If you are thinking of planning a trip to Scotland, the first thing to remember is that you really want to be visiting in the summer as the winter is freezing and rainy. Because of this, most of the tourism industry and events that are most enjoyable occur between the months of May and September. You can still visit in the winter however – you could enjoy a spa break, some quality football matches or a hike across snowy mountains – but every activity that you could do in the winter you could still do in the summer and it would be far more enjoyable because of the weather. No one really likes the rain.
